On behalf of our family, I would like to welcome you to the Big Gully Farm Internet Hereford Sale.  It is with both great excitement and apprehension that we offer you 4 bull calves, 9 heifer calves and 7 bred heifers via online auction.  These include 19 horned lots and 1 polled lot.  The auction will be hosted exclusively and with free registration at www.liveauctions.tv from November 11-16, 2011.  Videos and pictures are currently available on this website www.biggullyfarm.com.

Based on the results of our initial internet sale in the fall of 2010, we decided to continue merchandising our cattle over a six day span in a format we believe to be convenient, accessible and cost-effective for potential customers.  To maintain the level of quality we know is conducive to advancing our operation, the number of cattle needed to host a full-fledged production sale is not sensible.  The moderate number of lots and pre-sale effort that comprises an internet sale has suited us well from a labor and management standpoint.

Our family aims to produce cattle that strike an optimum balance between high-quality phenotype and versatile genetic profiles.  We have and continue to travel extensively to see other cattle and acquire sires that meet our needs for sound-structured, muscular, eye-appealing and low-maintenance cattle.

We are proud to offer, what we perceive to be, 20 high-quality lots from 16 different dams.  The 7 sires represented include 2 Denver Champions, an Agribition Champion, a two-time Agribition Reserve Champion, straight Canadian and Line One genetics.    Our feature progeny group this year is from BIG-GULLY 611 BOUNTY 517U, the 2010 Agribition Supreme Champion, and includes 3-¾ sisters and 1 bull calf.  The 7 bred heifers carry the service of 3 sires with calving dates ranging from early February to early April.

We have decided to offer a unique $5000 incentive to any Hereford member, adult and youth, that might win Grand Champion Owned Show Bull or Female at the 2012 World Hereford Conference in Olds, AB with an animal purchased in this sale.  Similar to last year, we are offering $5000 for any junior that would win Grand Champion, with a Big Gully Farm Internet Sale purchase, at the 2012 American Junior National Hereford Show in Grand Island, NE.  Should any junior showing a Big Gully animal have a JNHE class winner, $500 cash will be awarded to that exhibitor. 

All animals in this offering have been DNA parentage tested and confirmed free of the Idiopathic Epilepsy, Hypotrichosis and Color Dilutor genetic abnormalities. 

We feel these cattle have the ability to successfully adapt in many production scenarios and environments.  Our intent is for many of these cattle to perform in the show-ring, but more importantly be productive and profitable breeding tools beyond.

You are most welcome to stop at the farm, 12 miles north of Maidstone, anytime to see the cattle or call for an honest evaluation of the livestock.  We hope that you will connect to the sale from November 11-16 and participate in the close-out on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 pm MST.  Your role in simply viewing, registering, actively bidding or successfully purchasing would be greatly appreciated.
